This 15 panel exhibit explores the events, legislation and actions of people that led to the desegregation of Buncombe County from the 1950’s to the present time.   The exhibit highlights the accomplishments of the brave students of ASCORE (Asheville Student Committee on Racial Equality) who worked to integrate schools and businesses in WNC in the 1950's and 1960's.

A copy of "With All Deliberate Speed:" is permanently installed in the Stephens-Lee recreation center in Asheville. 

Schools:

The exhibits are available at no-charge for up to a one month loan with pickup at Highsmith Student Union front desk at UNC Asheville. Includes easels,  teacher materials, and student guides.

Houses of Worship, Community Organizations, Non- Profits, Post Secondary Schooling: 

$300 rental*

A staff member will drop the exhibit off and return for pick up one month later.  The borrowing agency is responsible for exhibit installation.

Businesses and Corporations:

$500 rental*

A staff member will drop the exhibit off and return for pick up one month later.
