Calla Hinton

Social Media and Marketing Coordinator
Highsmith Student Union 212

Calla Hinton lived in a small town called Clayton, North Carolina for her entire life, until she packed up and moved to the mountains of Asheville in 2013 to attend UNCA as a mechatronics engineering major. After some consideration, she decided that engineering wasn’t for her and made the change to a major in Mass Communication with a minor in Literature. She has since worked with several student publications on campus in social media management and coordination, including UNCA’s chapter of the Odyssey and the Blue Banner. She is currently working with the Center for Diversity Education to help promote education and awareness of diversity throughout the area (and maybe someday, the world) using social media and strategic advertising campaigns. Calla is excited to be able to spread education about diversity to Asheville and its surrounding communities through the use of social media. When not working at the center, you can probably find Calla working downtown at Mast General Store, drinking too much coffee or reading classic literature.
