Teacher Scholarships

 

WRESA will be taking a group of public school teachers to Berlin and Prague for a Professional Development Trip June 23-July 2, 2012. Two $500 scholarships are being offered to teachers who have not traveled to these regions before and are required to teach this geographic area in their grade level curriculum. 
 
The deadline for application is January 10, 2012..

Village Wisdom Kits

This kit includes 25 handmade books by students in Uganda and includes the book Village Wisdom by Carrie Wagner along with an instructional DVD for teachers and students. Available for a month long loan to K-12 school classrooms.

WNC Goes Global is a 45 minute program on the ways today's students need to prepare differently for 21st century jobs. The interactive program is perfect for Career Studies along with Social Study classrooms where it encourages students to:

Global Ambassadors

The Global Ambassador Program serves the Buncombe and neighboring counties by connecting UNC Asheville students with local community members and area schools as a free public service. Student Program presenters use their knowledge, experiences and talents to engage pupils in interactive learning experiences designed to be grade-appropriate and to complement textbook and classroom instruction. Read more...
